The case with stepped top, glazed panels to the sides and trunk, white painted circular Roman dial with Arabic five minutes, within brass bezel, blued steel hands and sweep seconds, the movement screwed to a brass bracket on the backboard, with arched plates and four back-screwed pillars, single train movement with deadbeat escapement, wheels with five crossings, the wood rod pendulum with brass bob and calibrated rating nut, suspended from the backboard and swinging against a beatscale, with brass weight -- 58¼in. (148.5cm.) high
