The case with stepped chamfer top, silk-backed brass tracery sound frets to the sides, with brass-lined panels to the front and on bun feet, the white painted Roman dial with indistinct signature WM. CAWDLE TORQUAY, blued steel spade hands, the single gut fusee movement with triangular plates and anchor escapement, with unusually shaped pillars (one replaced) -- 13½in. (34.5cm.) high
