Each of fluted shell form and on spreading oval base cast with shells, flutes and A serpent, with shaped foliate scroll rim and with serpent entwined scroll handle, flat chased with a band of Rocaille ornament and engraved with a coat-of-arms, two fully marked on body, two with maker's mark only - 9¾in. (25cm.) long

The arms are those of Sneyd impaling Bagot for Walter Sneyd Esq. of Keele (175?-1829) and his wife Louisa (d.1834), daughter of William, 1st Lord Bagot, whom he married in 1789 (4)
