AN ENGLISH CUT STEEL-HILTED SMALL-SWORD with slender tapering blade of hollow triangular section etched over half its length with foliage and a trophy of arms, the highly polished hilt comprising oval guard, rounded quillons, slender grip, and urn-shaped pommel, each set with multi-faceted beadwork (some minor losses), and multi-faceted beadwork arms (one missing) and knuckle-chain (repaired), in original black leather scabbard with ribbed polished steel mounts and chain for suspension, complete with wooden travelling case covered in red morocco leather (some damage, hook-catches missing) lined in plum velvet and containing the original polished steel belt hook, late 19th Century
