A PAIR OF NORTH ITALIAN LEG-DEFENCES each comprising a cuisse with separate top-plate struck twice with a split cross mark, and hinged side-plate, poleyn with a large heart-shaped side-wing with chevron-shaped ribs, two articulating lames above and two below, above a deep plate extending over the greave, the latter in two parts, hinged on the outside, shaped to the ankle bones and with the lower edges pierced for a mail sabaton (missing), the main edges with outward turns (some patching), partly late 15th Century (4)
