FLINTLOCK SHOTGUN with rebrowned twist barrels engraved 'Improved Elevation' on the rib, silver fore-sight, recessed patent breeches each with platinum line, platinum-lined stamp, and platinum-lined vent, engraved tang, signed engraved flat bevelled locks each with stepped tail, roller and rainproof pan, finely figured walnut half-stock (minor repairs to fore-end), engraved reblued iron mounts including trigger-guard with pineapple finial, chequered grip, cheek-piece, silver barrel-bolt escutcheons and rear ramrod-pipe, and original brass-mounted ramrod, signed Nock, the breech apparently a working replacement by Clough & Sons of Bath, Birmingham proof marks, early 19th Century
