A BRESCIAN WHEEL-LOCK BELT PISTOL with associated earlier four-stage sighted barrel chiselled in low relief at the breech with Judith with the head of Holofernes, and Abraham and Isaac (fore-sight later), engraved tang, flat lock of characteristic form with chiselled details, the wheel and plate etched throughout with later scrolls, flowers and foliage, engraved sliding pan-cover, lightly carved figured walnut full stock (fore-end cracked) inlaid with pierced and engraved steel panels, pierced and chiselled trigger-guard, waved belt hook with later etched decoration, and later iron-tipped ramrod, the lock stamped inside with maker's mark LG, circa 1650
