A PAIR OF GOLD-DECORATED OVER-AND-UNDER PERCUSSION PISTOLS made for an Indian Prince, inlaid with differing designs, with twist octagonal barrels, the top barrels each signed in full in gold Gothic script and inlaid over their entire length with engraved inlaid gold foliage, case-hardened breeches and bolsters decorated en suite, engraved platinum plugs, gold-inlaind tangs, signed gold-inlaid bolted locks (one mainspring broken) decorated with differing designs of scrollwork within a gold-inlaid border, chequered walnut butts studded with gold nails and inlaid with gold scrolling flowers and foliage (minor losses and replacements), iron mounts including pommel-caps and trigger-guards inlaid with gold trophies of arms and foliage, vacant gilt escutcheons, and stirrup ramrods, by Charles Lancaster, 151 New Bond Strt., London, London proof marks, Nos. 522 and 523, circa 1830
