A FINE MEDIEVAL SWORD with flat tapering double-edged blade incised in the long central fuller on each face with Lombardic letters between crosses and two shields of arms, all with traces of latten inlay, engraved on each face at the base with an inscription in Naskh calligraphy, the iron hilt with slightly arched spatulate quillons, almost square pommel with slightly curved sides and prominent central boss on each face, stepped pyramidal button, and later wooden grips, late 14th Century, probably Italian
