Their lyre-shaped frames, designed in the Louis XVI 'antique' manner, celebrate the Triumph of the Arts and Sciences. Acanthus-bud brackets support oval-medallion cases, while the pilaster-stems, embellished with festive bacchic lion-masks, support laurel-enriched trophies with globes, compasses etc.
