Hand-coloured engraved wall-map of the terrorities of Kingdom of Sardinia in northern Italy, 25 sheets arranged in 9 sections, each section 670 x 840mm, mounted on cloth and folding, each section trimmed in blue silk, the map with borders, rivers, towns and roads elaborately coloured, large title cartouche, compass rose, numerous engraved arms of the cities in the region. Contemporary calf-backed slipcase lettered in gilt 'Schweitz und ehmalig Sardinisch Lander'.
A fine late 18th century wallmap of north western Italy, extending west to east from the French border to Piacenza, and from the Swiss Alps to Genoa. The map was reissued from the original survey published in 1683. We are informed that this copy came from the Imperial Library in Vienna. British Museum Catalogue of Printed Maps 3, p.113.
