A MINTON MAJOLICA CIRCULAR BUTTER-DISH, COVER AND STAND, the bright-green dish with two blue scroll thumb-pieces, reserved with two brown oval medallions moulded with musical trophies tied with blue ribbon, between moulded horizontal brown and ochre bands, the cover with a recumbent goat enriched in muted colours, on a raised pad above two small oval portrait medallions, the border with an impressed wreath of vine, the stand with two vine-branch handles issuing leaves and tied with blue ribbon and the brown border with four small portrait medallions (crack to cover and large chip to flange, horns lacking, slight wear to stand), impressed marks, model number 485, date code for 1865
