A PAIR OF MEISSEN FIVE-LIGHT CANDELABRA WITH FIGURES ALLEGORICAL OF THE SEASONS modelled by Ernst Leuteritz, each with two scantily clad putti seated against a scroll-moulded column applied with flowers, one with Spring and Summer, the other with Autumn and Winter, each supporting a single nozzle and drip-pan fitted with four scrolling arms applied with garlands and with foliate nozzles and drip-pans, on spreading four-footed bases painted with scattered flowers and moulded with scrolls and feuilles-de-choux, the moulded details and rims enriched in gilding (damage and partial old restoration to one arm and drip-pan, two leaves of one drip-pan lacking, various chips to extremities, Summer's sickle lacking), blue crossed swords marks, Pressnummern 70, incised C128 and C129, painted numbers 28, circa 1860
