Evelyn Wyld was a very close friend of Eileen Gray and set up a carpet-making factory with her in Paris in 1910. The joint venture represented Eileen Gray's first step in abstract art. In 1929 Evelyn Wyld opened a decorator's shop in Cannes with Eyre de Lanux, the American painter and designer. Later she abandoned rug-making and beacame a merket-gardener
