Lot Essay

The artist who was working in Italy during the period 1765-8 exhibited in 1790 two paintings at the Royal Academy described as 'View of Florence' nos. 192 and 462 . Another version of similar size but with slight variations was exhibited at the Guildhall 1956, no. 26, ex - Collection Sir Francis Burdett.
