Two paintings of dead game by Alessandro Gori have appeared at auction in recent years: Dead Game in a wooded Landscape, sold in these Rooms 6 Feb. 1976 and Dead Game in a Landscape with a Still Life of Fruit sold at Sotheby's, 11 Oct. 1990. Both were similarly signed. Little is known of Alessandro Gori but it seems probable that he was a member of the Florentine family which included Agnolo, Domenico and Vincenzo
