painted in seventeeth century Mughal style, gouache heightened with gold on paper, on a covered throne in a palace interior, Akbar sits surrounded by attendants and courtiers on either side, including a British diplomat on the left, while a supplicant approaches in the middle, red margin with black and white rules, on brown leaf with gold painted scrolling flowering vine, (one small patch of denting, otherwise excellent condition), framed and glazed
