A SELJUK UNGLAZED POTTERY JUG with flattened inverted drop-shaped body, the shoulder sharply moulded with a band of vine around a kufic inscription, a band of scrolling motifs above, 13th century (neck and handle associated) 9in. (22.9cm.) high, and ANOTHER SIMILAR, the shoulder with a broad band of kufic benedictory inscription, 13th century (mouth probably associated) 8¼in. (20.8cm.) high, and ANOTHER SIMILAR with flaring mouth, the sides moulded with an illiterate band of naskh on a dotted ground, with fish, knotted and palmette moulded bands above and below, 13th century (repaired, some losses) 7in.
