Lot Essay

The illustration to Keble was published as a word-engraving on p. 4 of Routledge's edition of The Christian Year, 1874. Scott contributed eleven illustrations and was one of several artists represented. The illustration to Shelley's Alastor was made in connection with Scott's edition of the poet's works, also published in 1874
