Nevis
Featuring the collection assembled by K.J.A.O. Manning
Early Letters and Handstamps
cover 1662 (Jan.) one page E.L. from Nevis to "Mr. Richd. Southwell in Fenchurch Street near Billitor Lane, London", showing faint Bishop mark. The letter has been extensively repaired and is facially soiled, however this is one of the earliest pieces of mail to have originated from Nevis. Also 1753 E.L. from Nevis addressed to the Southsea Coffee House in London, and 1789 E.L. to Wiltshire with two-line "BRISTOL/SHIP LRE" handstamp. An interesting trio.
