The nickel plated self-winding movement with gold alloy balance, 25 jewels, adjusted to five positions and to temperature, numbered N790286, the black dial with luminous baton quarter hour marks and dot five minute indexes, luminous hands and sweep centre seconds, date aperture under magnifying glass and central 24 hour indicator, the steel case with rotating red and blue bezel calibrated in 24 hours, screw down winder and screwed back, with Jubilee bracelet and deployant clasp, case, dial and movement signed
38 mm. diam.

Lot Essay

It was this type of watch which was adopted by the NASA astronauts for their personal use. Jack Swigert presented his watch to Rolex after his return from the ill-fated Apollo Moon Shot. This watch is illustrated on page 278.
