Note: Mail from the Naval Brigade is most uncommon; the sender of this cover was Midshipman, the Hon. S.C. Colville who saw service ashore from 19 Mar. to 6 Aug. 1879; he accompanied the Eshowe Relief Column, was present at the battle of Ginghilovo and accompanied the Brigade to Port Durnford.
