Note: The countersignature is that of a Captain, "Commanding Detachment 1st. N. Staffford Regt, Entonganeni, Zululand". They had probably been left there in the aftermath of the operations in June-July 1888 against the u Suthu. Dinuzulu was to stand trial in Eshowe in October.
