cover 1879 (28 July) XU5 showing metal eyelet and punch holes at right hand opening (for use as a secure method of sealing the XU5) and showing fine oval handstruck "THE NEW POSTAL SAMPLE BAG/PATENTED BY/(CROWN)/DALTON & MORGAN/WHOLESALE STATIONERS" on front, bearing 1d. plate 215 and used from Montrose to Partick, black handstruck "1" and "MORE/TO PAY", a little defective but still a good example of this scarce item.
