Steve McCurry has worked extensively in India, Nepal, Sri Lanka, Pakistan and Thailand, besides covering the conflict in Afghanistan and Cambodia. He has worked for the National Geographic in Baluchistan, Northern Pakistan, Iraq, Afghanistan and Beirut and throughout Asia. He has received numerous awards: the Robert Capa Medal for his work in Pakistan (1980); the American Magazine Photographer of the Year award for his work in the National Geographic in 1984, the year which he won the four first prizes in the World Press Photos Awards.
