Patrick Zachmann has been a freelance photographer since 1985. He has worked for publications throughout the world, including Time Magazine, Life, National Geographic, Rolling Stone, L'Express, Grands Reportages, Géo, Actual and Libération. In 1983 his coverage on the Mafia in Naples was followed by an exhibition and book on his photographs. He has photographed young immigrants in Marseilles, done work on the Jewish identity and covered political unrest in China in 1989. Since 1985 he has photographed Chinese communities throughout the world. Among his awards is the American Art Directors 1992 Merit Award.
