This enamel miniature is very close in format to the miniature by Ozias Humphry in the Royal Collection (R. Walker, Miniatures in the Collection of Her Majesty the Queen, Cambridge, 1992, no. 231) where Queen Charlotte is shown in a light blue dress with red sash and red ribbon in her dressed hair. Humphry exhibited a miniature of the Queen "painted from life" at the Society of Arts in 1767 which may well refer to the one now in the Royal Collection
