Terrantez--Vintage 1899

Details
Terrantez--Vintage 1899
During the whole of the second half of the 19th century the Madeira trade was at a low ebb, production having been badly bit by oidium and then phylloxera. Many firms were put out of business. Terrantez, always a difficult and shy-bearing grape, was - still is - scarce. Tasting note: medium deep, rich amber-brown; very sweet, massive, almost port-like; rich, figgy, teeth gripping power. Concentrated. Magnificent. Very rare
