Russia, 16th century
Shaped rectangular, the square centre carved with the Mother of God of the Sign with the allegories of the Four Evangelists, the silver mount chased and engraved with the Archangels Michael and Gabriel, and Saints Flor and Lavr, Paraskeva and Barbara, and two seraphim on geometric ground, the reverse repoussé and engraved with St. George, with hinged suspension loop, apparently unmarked
