This image comes from a sitting featured in American Vogue on November 15, 1936. The dress, which was made by Norman Hartnell in white satin with gold sequin embroidery, was referred to as 'Casa Blanca'. This was the dress Gertrude Lawrence wore in 'We Were Dancing', one of the one-act plays by Noël Coward presented on three consequetive nights under the title 'Tonight-at-8:30'.
