A NORTH ITALIAN AMARANTH, FRUITWOOD, MARQUETRY AND PARQUETRY COMMODE, the later moulded canted rectangular brêche violette marble top above two frieze drawers inlaid with simulated flutes and two long drawers inlaid sans traverse with a ribbon-tied and laurel-bound oval medallion depicting a martial trophy with phrygian hat, swords, flags, drums, trumpets and fasce, within a chequer-banded border, the canted angles inlaid with guttae and simulated flutes and with similarly inlaid sides, on square tapering legs, stamped twice LEBEGUE, with chalk inscription to the reverse WIRRAL CHES, the marble broken and repaired, restorations, late 18th Century
