A BRUGES TAPESTRY, woven in wools and silks, en suite with the preceding lot, depicting a robed figure, flanked by attendants and a laurel-bound bull, presenting an offering of thanksgiving to a high priestess, who stands before a ribbon-tied laurel-bound flaming altar, the classical triumphal arch surmounted by a splayed eagle tablet and a seated figure of Zeuz, flanked by Juno and Minerva, within a foliate-trailed slip and outer border woven with plumed helmets, putto and figures of Fame and centred by a grisaille cartouche with frightened figures in a landscape, the sides with garlanded angels suspending further medallions and grotesques, in a blue outer slip, mid-16th Century, restorations and areas of re-weaving
