inscribed on an old label of the reverse 'also Jemima, daughter of Mrs L. Brooke, married to Sir Jeremiah Dickson. Half length.

Lot Essay

The old label on the reverse of this portrait identifies the sitter as Jemima, the eighth child of Thomas Langford Brooke and his wife Maria, daughter of John Wicke of Horsham.
She married Sir Jeremiah Dickson, K.C.B.
