Engraved frontispiece by Charles de Prenner, 14 engraved plates, 10 double-page and 4 folding, by George Caspar Prenner, G.A. Belmondo, J.L. Daudet, C. Bianchi and Antoine Herisset, all mounted on guards. (Lower left margin of plate 10 just trimmed, light browning, occasional marginal soiling.) Original speckled sheep, gilt panelled covers with the ARMS OF CARLO-EMMANUELE, KING OF SARDINIA, spine gilt-tooled in compartments, (small neat repair to head of spine, extremities rubbed).

FIRST EDITION, describing the procession through Turin of Carlo-Emmanuele III and his bride, Elizabeth of Lorraine, on the evening of April 21, 1737. The engravings show the illuminations of various buildings, and the arches and statues that were specially constructed along the route of the procession, as well as the firework 'macchina' representing the sources of the River Po.
