Lot Essay

This work is unique: it is 1 of 4 known prototypes from which Manzoni intended to produce multiples. This prototype was to be produced in a limited edition under the supervision of Henk Peeters for the NUL I exhibition at the Amsterdam Stedeljik Museum in 1962, but the project was never realised.
