cover 1875 (11 Oct.) soldier's envelope to London, headed "From No. 4124 Pte W Woodhouse 18th Regt" and countersigned by the Commanding Officer, bearing 1874 perf. 14 1d. deep blue tied by c.d.s. with a further strike alongside and showing, on reverse, London arrival c.d.s. for 30 October; the envelope is complete with original letter on regimental crested paper, the contents include a reference to the regiment moving to Malta. The stamp torn and the envelope stained and with a small portion torn away at lower right corner. A presentable example of the One Penny concessionary rate. B.P.A. Certificate (1992)
