Oblong 2° (294 x 430mm). 17 hand-coloured plates (7 lithographed, 10 aquatint), heightened with gum-arabic, each cut to the edge of the image and mounted on a light brown sheet, with a thick black-ink ruled border, and titled in French in a contemporary manuscript hand beneath. Contemporary morocco-backed cloth (spine scuffed and slightly cracked).
A selection of very fine views of Milan, including two views of the interior of La Scala, an unusual view of the church and piazza of 'St. Fidèle' in the snow, and, finest of all, a view of the cool summer interior of the Duomo with the early morning sun, caught by the dust-motes, highlighting a family group in the foreground.
