In the long, two page letter, Gordon expresses his disquiet about the new Khedive, "...I am sick of the tricks of these people and think that they are not worthy of all the trouble one takes for them...The Sudan will see me no more..."; the flap of the envelope is missing, otherwise clean and fine.
