A TRANSITIONAL GILTWOOD TABOURET DE PIED, the serpentine rectangular back, seat and sides covered in padded dark blue velvet, the frame carved with lotus-leaves and with flowerhead cresting, with beaded apron and on panelled square tapering legs headed by flowerheads, the seat-rail painted 38338X and separately 5415, with batten carrying-holes, re-gessoed and re-gilt, one leg possibly replaced, probably North Italian, circa 1770
