Lot Essay

A loosely related malachite-veneered table with winged ormolu caryatid-supports was supplied by Pierre Philippe Thomire circa 1890-14 to Jérome Bonaparte, and it is now displayed in the Museo Stibbut, Florence (illustrated in A.M. Ginsti Pietre Dure, Hardstone in Furniture and Decorations, London, 1992, p. 214, pl. 119)
