Lot Essay

The design for these candelabra relates to a drawing, probably by Henri Auguste, that belonged to the collection of drawings of the goldsmith Odiot, illustrated in H. Ottomeyer, P. Pröschel et. al., Vergoldete Bronzen, Munich, 1986, vol. I, p. 284, fig. 4.14.8.
