A PAIR OF LOUIS XV GOBELINS TAPESTRIES, woven in wools and silks, each with an oval vignette within a gadrooned picture-frame border surmounted by the Royal Arms of France swagged with a ribbon-tied laurel garland, the cartouche festooned with floral garlands of roses, peonies, anenomes and other flowers, the base centred by a crowned female mask upon an 'antique' plinth hung with an ermine-lined, jewelled fringe and cabochon-encrusted scrolled acanthus angles, one inscribed 'LA PSICHE DE MOLIERE. /ACTE IV. SCENE III.' with Cupid fleeing the outstretched arms of Psyche, the other inscribed 'ROXANE, ATALIDE ACTE IV SCENE III DE BATAZET DE J RACINE' with a heartbroken Roxane clasping a letter and being consoled by her companion, the letter inscribed 'AMU...à Roxane..., restorations, the lower borders replaced
