A PAIR OF BERLIN RED-LACQUERED FAYENCE BEAKER-VASES with flared rims, decorated in enamels, bronzed and gilt with birds among flowering shrubs in a fenced garden and among water-plants and grasses, the central swelling section with circular gilt medallions of birds reserved on a diaper-ground, the rims with blue and yellow half-flowerheads and the top rims with shaped panels of diaper-pattern edged with gilt scrolling foliage and flowerheads, the lower parts with radiating stiff leaves (flaking and scratching to enamels and lacquer, some lacquer lacking, one rim broken in three places and repaired), blue divided circle mark within a double circle, circa 1720, the lacquer circa 1800, on mahogany stands
