A BÖTTGER BOURDALOUE of slightly irregular oval form and with moulded strapwork handle with scroll terminals, the upper terminal with black foliage disguising a firing fault, painted in the manner of Johann Ehrenfried Städler with a bird in flight between a flower- spray and a luxuriant trailing flowering branch beneath a brown line rim and above a triple iron-red line band (slight scratching to interior), overglaze blue enamel crossed swords mark, circa 1725
