A George II ebonised striking bracket clock, the case with handle to inverted bell top, glazed sides, the dial signed Charles Clay London on the silvered chapter-ring with matted centre having decorated mock pendulum and calendar apertures, pierced blued hands, Indian-head and foliate spandrels, strike/silent ring in the arch, the five pillar twin fusee (wire lines) movement with verge escapement and strike on bell, the backplate profusely engraved with scrolling foliage with central basket of fruit flanked by two birds, movement securing brackets to the case
