These figures are executed in the style associated with the celebrated sculptor Albert Ernest Carrier-Belleuse (d. 1887). Although not signed, the stance, phyisognmy and the treatment of the falling hair are characteristic of Carrier-Belleuse's Oeuvre (see footnote to Lot 377).
