Lot Essay

Comte Alphonse Emmanuel de Moncel de Perrin (1866-1930), Born in Paris he studied under Thomas and Mercié and began exhibiting at the salon des Artistes Francais in 1888. He specialized in classical high-reliefs, genre figures and portrait busts and received an honourable mention in 1889, a travelling scholarship in 1895 and was awarded the Legion D'Honneur in 1903.
