                            A PAIR OF GERMAN PALE-BLUE-GROUND OVIFORM VASES with flared necks below gilt gadroon-moulded rims and blue coiled double-serpent handles with gilt acanthus-moulded lower parts and terminals, the bodies painted with continous friezes of putti and goats in idyllic misty parkland with châteaux, the lower bodies with gilt gadroons, on spreading stems enriched in gilding (repairs to three handles, one with chips to top of stem at junction with lower body, wear to gilding), circa 1880
