A VIENNA-STYLE OVAL DISH painted with a Biblical scene of a multitude of figures before a fortress and a sailing ship within a chased gilt band, the claret well enriched with gilt scrolling foliage and outlined with a band of beads, the panelled blue border painted in white to imitate enamel with arabesques divided by smaller medallions of animals and birds and gilt vases and foliage, within chased and seeded gilt surrounds, blue beehive mark, impressed P and 816, circa 1890
