A COMPOSITE MEISSEN, DRESDEN AND VOLKSTEDT HAUSMALER CHOCOLATE-SERVICE painted with groups of figures wearing 18th Century dress in shrubby landscape vignettes with statuary within turquoise borders edged with pink lines entwined with flower-garlands and gilt dentil-pattern rims, comprising: a baluster chocolate-pot and cover with a scroll-moulded handle and spout and a flower finial, a similar smaller hot-milk jug and cover, a sugar-bowl and cover, a spoon, two cups and covers with flower finials, and a shaped oval tray (minute chips to petals, small crack to cover of jug, minute chip to one saucer), cancelled blue crossed swords marks to sugar-bowl, cups and saucers, blue crossed hayforks mark to chocolate-pot and hot-milk jug, late 19th Century
